Welcome to the Cornwall County Athletics Website
The Cornwall County Athletics Association is a competition provider, arranging annual Cross Country / Track & Field Championships.
Cornwall County althletics teams are selected for Regional Inter-county fixtures, Southern Counties Championships & National Inter-county Championships.
Outside of athlete's own club, training is also arranged for County Development squads from time to time.
In recent years the county has strengthened its involvement in Sportshall Championships for the younger age groups. These comprise indoor activity sports with the emphasis on fun where children are supervised by an enthusiastic team of qualified local volunteers. There are three county events throughout the winter months which are held at either Carn Brea Leisure Centre, Truro College Sportshall or Polkyth Leisure Centre and they are seen as an important stepping stone for children to progress to more focused athletic events. A selected county teams goes on to compete in the Regional Inter Counties event held at Torbay Leisure Centre (Paignton) in early Spring. In recent years 4 of our athletes have produced excellent performances and have been selected as individuals to compete in the National Final in Birmingham's Indoor Arena. This usually takes place late March/ early April.
